Facebook: Safe or Not?

A man was accused of murdering his wife and then posting a picture of her dead corpse on social networking site, Facebook.The couple had gotten into a heated argument when Derek Medina shot and murdered his wife in front of their 10 year old daughter. He posted the picture with the caption:"I'm going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife love you guys miss you guys take care Facebook people you will see me in the news."  


Another woman from Texas was charged for reckless injury to a child for logging onto Facebook while the young children she was babysitting stood near the pool un-guarded. In the 15 minutes that she went online a little girl got pushed into the water and drowned.

There has been a lot of controversy over Facebook, whether it is safe or not or whether its a positive impact on society. There have been many cases of cyber bullying. People blame the website over the people when in reality people need to be careful what they say and post. The people are the ones at fault and need to think about their actions.

Like many other things, Facebook needs to be used carefully and properly. It is human nature to not want to put the blame on themselves but that's what we need to change. Facebook can be a positive website if used the right way.
